Letter from the Director
On behalf of everyone associated with the Pro Star AAA Select Camp allow me to extend
my best wishes as you gain valuable exposure to the many facets of this innovative
program.
Pro Star enters its sixteenth year of developing elite hockey players and is considered
among the best developmental programs in North America. During this time, Pro Star
has been instrumental in the development and advancement of hundreds of players
competing at the highest level.
As founder and director, I created Pro Star with a fundamental mission and philosophy
that holds true today. What separates Pro Star from our competition is our proven
model and commitment to the development of the Whole Person, not just the hockey
player. In many ways Pro Star is the “seeding” in the development process.
Pro Star is a character based program. Our athletes are challenged each day by the
coaches, off –ice instructors and their highly skilled peers. Our motivated staff
of professionals displays a remarkable diversity of strengths on and off the ice.
They constantly instill the values and skills needed to develop an elite athlete.
However, Pro Star is not for everyone! It is for the AAA calibre player who is serious
about their personal development. If you think you possess the skills, focus and
commitment to participate in the Pro Star program, then I encourage you to apply.
But be prepared to stretch yourself out of your “comfort zone” and begin thinking,
acting and training like an elite athlete.
There are many hockey opportunities available in the summer and choosing the right
one can be difficult. But the choice is easy when it involves your future and the
Pro Star experience is like none other. I know that our alumni look back at their
Pro Star experience as an important piece of their overall development. They gained
valuable knowledge, a clear perspective of their responsibilities and a new found
preparedness in regards to the challenges they face on and off the ice.
I hope as you read this overview of the Pro Star program you get a snapshot of our
commitment and respect for the great game of hockey and life. I wish you good luck
and continued success this season and look forward to the opportunity of working
together this summer!
Sincerely,
Dale Dunbar
