Simply, the greatest hockey player in history. Bobby Orr revolutionized the game as a defenseman with his end to end rushes
and solid play defensively. In his first year he captured the Calder trophy as the league’s rookie of the year. He won two scoring titles,
the only defenseman in history to accomplish that feat, and had career season highs of 46 goals and 102 assists.
For eight consecutive seasons Orr won the Norris Trophy as the NHL’s
top defenseman and three Art Ross trophies as league’s most valuable player.
In addition he won two Stanley Cups with Boston and won the Conn Smythe award
both times as the most valuable player of the playoffs. He was also voted to the
1976 Canada Cup All-Star Team and was most valuable player of the tournament.
In 1978 Orr officially retired from the NHL and was inducted into the Hall of
Fame in 1979.
Today Orr maintains a demanding schedule as he travels throughout North America
as a spokesperson for major corporations. In addition, Bobby continues to support
many organizations as part of his outstanding charity work. He is currently a player agent and
president of The Orr Hockey Group.
He’s simply the greatest hockey player ever. The most impressive characteristic about Bobby
is his gift to people. He is a better person than he was a player and he is a legend. His undying
dedication and loyalty to the game and it’s future is incredible. Having worked for Bobby for the past
four years I am always impressed with his message to the kids about respect on and off the ice. He
always tells them that if they respect the game, the game will respect them.
